William Thomas Stead (1849 – 1912) – British newspaper editor who and pioneer of investigative journalism. A vocal supporter of Spiritualism, he promoted spirit photography, championed the causes of various mediums, and established the “Julia Bureau” for communications between the bereaved and their loved ones.
